KEARNEY, NEB. — The workforce crunch hits agriculture just as it has other industries. Cattlemen feel the effects of not being able to find hired help.
It’s common talk in the barns as the Buffalo County Fairground host a big cattle event.
“That is not only the talk, it is the problem,” said Brent Vieselmeyer of Vision Angus.
He recruits students from the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture in Curtis but he faces competition from employers off the farm.
