KEARNEY, Neb. — Food insecurity is an issue many Nebraskans face, and one upcoming workshop is hoping to help tackle it with the help of farmers, ranchers and restaurant owners.
Kearney will be hosting the “Local Food Leader'' Workshop Friday that invites people to learn more about the issue of food insecurity, food systems, equity and personal values and action plans.
The workshop also works to benefit the Kearney Area Farmers Market by providing benefits with the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, also known as SNAP, and double up food bucks.
