Kearney, Nebraska (December 2024) — The Development Council for Buffalo County has officially moved into its new office space, a state-of-the-art 12,000+ square foot building that it now shares with the Kearney Area Chamber of Commerce and Visit Kearney. This new facility, strategically located near the Younes Conference Center and the Kearney Sportsplex, marks a significant milestone for economic development in Kearney and Buffalo County, Nebraska.

The Development Council's leadership in this move underscores its commitment to driving economic growth and fostering a thriving business environment. The modern building is designed to enhance collaboration, featuring shared spaces such as conference rooms, a media room for podcasting and video production, and a welcoming visitor center. This setup not only facilitates seamless cooperation but also amplifies the Development Council's efforts to support local businesses and attract visitors.

“This building is much more than just a new address for the Development Council,” said Trevor Lee, President of the Development Council. “It’s a key location for innovation and partnership, where we can connect directly with the expertise of the Kearney Chamber and Visit Kearney to drive growth and opportunities that were difficult to achieve in our previous individual spaces.”

The new facility provides a vibrant, light-filled workspace for staff and visitors, enhancing accessibility and productivity. Its prime location near prominent community facilities positions the Development Council to better serve residents and businesses, reinforcing its role as a catalyst for economic development.

The move is a pivotal moment for the Development Council, which is dedicated to facilitating sustainable economic growth and viable development across Buffalo County.

“This new space empowers us to focus on what we do best—helping Kearney and Buffalo County grow and succeed,” Lee continued. “By being under the same roof of critical partners, we’re best positioned to deliver on our mission and create meaningful impacts for the communities and stakeholders we serve.”

The shared facility symbolizes a unified approach to supporting the region’s economic ecosystem, bringing together the strengths of economic development, tourism promotion, and business advocacy under one roof.
